Мейдумская Пирамида

Описание: Арабский перевод названия Пирамиды – "Неправильная" или "Ложная". Пирамида доминирует над пустынным пейзажем и расположена недалеко от Файюмского оазиса. Она больше похожа на ступенчатую разрушенную башню, чем на истинную пирамиду. Сегодня чётко различимы всего три ступени, но средневековые источники упоминают о пяти ступенях. В 1882 году известный французский египтолог Gaston Maspero был первым, кто проник внутрь Пирамиды, но предполагаемая погребальная камера оказалась совершенно пустой. В конце прошлого века открытием стали загадочные разгрузочные камеры и коридор над уже известными к тому времени помещениями. Обнаружение подобных скрытых помещений является отличным доказательством того, что великие пирамиды Египта продолжают хранить свои тайны и сегодня.
